Wood & Laminate

We offer a selected range of wood and Laminate floors suitable for all areas, and are durable due to their durability. These floors can be installed in all areas of the house.

Real Wood

Real wood floors come in a variety of species, thicknesses, widths and surface finishes such as natural oil or wax to lacquered finishes ranging from matt, to high gloss.

There are generally two wood floor options available. The traditional ‘Solid’ option, which is one continual piece of your chosen species wood throughout from top to bottom and ‘Engineered’, which is either a 4mm or 6mm veneer of your chosen wood species, combined with a plywood base layer.

Of the two types, engineered wood is by far the most popular format, mainly due to its general stability and resistance to warping. This inherent stability makes it the only wood type recommended for installation over underfloor heating systems. Unlike solid wood floors, they can also be fitted in a ‘floated’ method, which allows for the option of fitting ‘sound proofing’ or ‘thermal’ underlays underneath the finished wood floor. It should be noted and taken into account when considering a real wood floor, that regular maintenance of the oiled or lacquered surface is required periodically and they are prone to scratching and denting.

Laminate

Laminate flooring has many of the same characteristics as engineered wood flooring, as in it has good stability, can be laid floated on underlays over many different floor types and can also be laid over underfloor heating systems. Two of the major advantages Laminate floors have over engineered wood, is they have more durable surfaces, making them less prone to scratching and denting. In addition to this and similar to Amtico/LVT floors, they require no maintenance of the surface, other than cleaning.
